June 3, 2011 (Washington, DC) Protesters gathered at the Jefferson Memorial to dance within their First Amendment rights. This dance protest came one week after several protesters were arrested for dancing at the Jefferson Memorial, an act the U.S. Park Police consider a form of protest. A recent U.S. Court of Appeals ruling upheld a ban on dancing at the memorial.
