August 13, 2011 (Washington, DC)  Hundreds of people gathered in Washington to participate in Slut Walk DC.  Despite the name, Slut Walk is a movement to increase dialouge and raise awareness about society blaming the victims of rape and sexual assault for dressing a certain way.  Accroding to Slut Walk DC's website, the movement started in Toronto, Canada, after a Toronto policeman allegedly said "women should avoid dressing like sluts in order not to be victimized".
