Leslie Johnson pleads guilty JUne 30, 2011 (Greenbelt, MD) U.S. Attorney for Maryland, Rod Rosenstein, talks to the press about charges against Prince George's County Councilmember Leslie Johnson (D-Mitchellville). At a hearing in U.S. District Court in Greenbelt, Johnson (D-Mitchellville), 59, pled guilty to one felony count of conspiracy to commit witness and evidence tampering. She admitted to flushing a $100,000 check from a developer down the toilet and concealing $79,600 in her underwear to hide it from federal agents. She is expected to lose her Council seat.
