Postal Service Press Conference September 15, 2011 (Washington, DC) Postmaster General Patrick Donahoe (left), and U.S. Postal Service CEO Megan J. Brennan (seated), held a press conference announcing proposed comprehensive changes to the nationwide infrastructure. Nearly 250 facilities face closure or consolidation, and workforce reductions may affect 35,000 positions. Service standard revisions for First-Class Mail could also be likely, which would mean delivery of 2-3 days instead of the current 1-3 day window.
