Slut Walk DC: Justice for Rape Victims August 13, 2011 (Washington, DC) Hundreds of people gathered in Washington to participate in Slut Walk DC. Despite the name, Slut Walk is a movement to increase dialouge and raise awareness about society blaming the victims of rape and sexual assault for dressing a certain way. According to Slut Walk DC's website, the movement started in Toronto, Canada, after a Toronto policeman allegedly said "women should avoid dressing like sluts in order not to be victimized". Hundreds of people joined today's march. (Photo: Media Images International) Special Use: This image is intended for Editorial Use Only, unless otherwise specified.
