Mayor Vincent Gray at Anacostia River Trail Ceremony

November 4, 2011 (Bladensburg, MD) District of Columbia Mayor Vincent Gray posed for a photo op, then rode a bicycle along the Anacostia River Trail in Maryland. Federal, state, and local officials celebrated the recent completion of 12 miles of trail in the District and 1.5 miles in Maryland with a ribbon cutting ceremony. As part of a larger system, both trails will eventually provide nearly 60 miles of continuous trails. The Anacostia River Watersheds' project was also selected to stimulate local economies, create local jobs, and improve quality of life under the Urban Waters Federal Partnership.
